Singer, songwriter and author Jimmy Buffett has opened Jimmy Buffett’s at the Beachcomber at the recently renovated Ohana Waikiki Beachcomber hotel. The family-friendly restaurant features a festive, island-inspired and vintage Hawaiian decor. The 21,000-square-foot restaurant seats approximately 500 guests in several distinct areas — an open-air lanai, the Hot Spot Bar inspired by the molten lava formation of the Hawaiian Islands, or an Ocean Wave booth inspired by the North Shore’s waves. A stage features live music from up-and-coming talents perform nightly.
Opening adjacent to the restaurant is the Honolulu Surfing Museum, which exhibits a collection of surfing artifacts, videos and surf-inspired items from Hawaii and around the world. There’s also a retail store located on the street level in the heart of the shopping district of Kalakaua Avenue, offering a variety of merchandise, including Frozen Concoction Makers, Jimmy Buffett CDs, apparel and souvenirs.
